Please have "on" and "better" be the default choices for all players in turn-based games. Right now we all have to turn them on for every new game.• Quin és el meu navegador?

Totally agree with this. I can’t think of a good reason it should not be the default option.

I don't know about default - people should really know what they are getting into before they are using it - but if they could PLEASE carry over from game to game that would be delightful.
(I honestly can't think of a good reason to not use them as default to be clear, but it should be an informed choice not a bewildering series of automated actions for new players)

Definitely agree with this suggestion for turn-based, or at least implement a way for a player's settings to be saved between games.

A game with a user not using the auto pick options will be incredibly slow. Is there a way to make this an option on game setup, so that everyone has to use the auto pick options?

At the very least, a person should be able to set their own preference as a default.

I agree with this suggestion, but I would go further, and set the default to use auto-pick for all games.
The log makes it quite clear what is going on, so I think do not think new players will be confused. (Like me, they are probably reluctant to turn on *any* options in their first game.) Also, the "or better" logic works quite well, so users don't need to be afraid of using it.

Totally agree: it is already really clear what happens from turn to turn.
One thing though, maybe worth of a different ticket: the "BETTER" algorithm definitely CAN be improved.
Several time I have choices like "2 coins + 1 coins" OR "3 coins and 1 point". The second one is clearly better but the "better" option doesn't kick in to speed up the game.
The algorithm pseudo code should be something like:
1) subtract, reward-wise, one choice from the other (coin-coin, points-points, revenue-revenue, specialActionTypeN-specialActionTypeN
2) if all the differences come out 0, choose one automatically since they are the same
3) if only one comes out different from 0, choose the one with that larger value
4) if two or more differences are different from 0, leave the choice to the player

100% agree with this. Or at least let people set defaults like they do in other games.

I agree, this could be best set during Game creation, so that a player knows what he is getting into. But still leave it selectable in the Game preferences afterwards.

Allow the setting to persist across games would be great. Making it the default would probably be bad for new players who need to get used to the game and how choices are made first.

I'm not sure this is universally better. I think there might be an edge case where, if you trigger game end this way, it might deprive you of a turn you would otherwise have had, and thus allow someone else to win.

Another upvote! It's a fantastic implementation currently, and the only thing I'm wishing from it is that it carried over my settings between games.
I agree with idea of not making it default, just to remember the settings as player preferences.

Yeah, I agree that remembering the preference is probably better than changing the default.
But current situation is not optimal and changing the default should be very simple to implement.

ShibbaCha - the original developers had not been maintaining the game. I took over maintenance of the game a few weeks ago in order to fix at least the worst bugs. I am aware of this request and will consider it once more of the bugs are fixed.

I think the default for all games should be "On" and "Only One". Allowing players to set their own defaults that carryover from game to game would also be fine, though likely harder to code.

This was reported in 2022 and it's now 2 years later. Can we please please get this implemented?

This honestly should not be the default at all. The default should be the options that help you learn the game. Everyone who has played a few times and is used to the game select these options, anyway.

I don't want to choose between beginners and advanced players, but I think we don't have to.
I am going to pick this up soon, in a bit different fashion.
1) these settings will be inherited from your previous game, so you don't have to set it every time.
2) I am considering a game mode, in which the fast mode will be enforced on all players.
Let me know if that would do it.

so this is what I planned, but when I tried, I learned a lot about how bga actually works.
so for now, I added a Preference that you can set. (using the three gray horizontal lines in top top right corner)
it is called: "Fast options are default"

Not the original reporter but I love the new "Fast options are default" flag, exactly what I always wanted!
