The colors of agilmor have been chosen according to their preferences. Change my preferences.

If you tell us what your preferences are, devs could check if maybe grey is assimilated to white or something. Or maybe you forgot you had grey as your top choice (since very few games have grey as a color, it's easy to forget) ?

I made two new tests after changing my color preferences and it worked everytime for me
- grey is working
- white is ignored as there is no white car
- pink is ignored as there is no pink car
- red is working

My color preferences are: Green, Purple, Red and Black. In that order.
I'm getting grey a lot of times, I think that I've never got green.

Ok, made even more tests and there are indeed problems:
- With green as first color and red as second, I got the grey car (should have received green)
- With Kaki as first color (who ever does that?) and red as second, I got the Yellow car (should have received red)
- With cyan as first and red as second, I got the grey car
- With pink as first and blue as second, I got the red car
- violet-white-black gave me black instead of white
- violet-red-black did give me red

So there is some weird stuff going in.

oops, violet-white-black giving black is of course correct.
So there doesn't seem to be any problem with violet.
So it seems that green gives grey, kaki gives yellow, cyan gives grey and pink gives red.

I tried with railroad ink to see if all games have the same problems and while Kaki is also assimilated to yellow there, pink doesn't get assimilated to red. So it might be framework related but not entirely ? Weird.

I think it's just how the framework compute the closest color match, the game already use color preferences with bga framework feature.

I'm not certain where is the issue, but can you let me know how to get the green car in a solo game?
I'm not able to do it by having Green in my preferences, so it looks like something is wrong somewhere?

I do not get my prefered color, too.

The game log said: "The colors of Thomas have been chosen according to their preferences.". My color preferences are 1. Green, 2. Khaki green, 3. Cyan and 4. Red. I was the only premium player at this table. My player color was gray. That is none of my configured prefered colors.

If you say, that this is not a bug of this game, but a bug of "how the bga framework computes the closest color match", then

i.) why do I get my prefered colors in all other games?

Could it be that the colors of the cars are not matching the colors offered in the BGA configuration?
e.g. in BGA configuration, Green is #1F8010 , but in HEAT the green car is #74A551, and that may be the reason, why the BGA framework can not match my prefered color with the color of the cars?

ii.) If you say, this is not a bug in the game implementation, then should we open a new report for the BGA framework to get this issue fixed?

You can open a global bga bug if you want but i already discussed with admins that confirmed the bug. Computing a distance between color is not easy. The current bga algorithm tends to make green and gray close so this is what is happening on Heat

Thomas, Tissac, thanks for the explanations.
Based on your comments, I understand that, although this is not technically a Heat bug as Tisaac explains, it's also true that for some particular case (green preference) it's not working like most of the games in BGA.

Tisaac, do you think that we/you could change the "green" value in Heat (or the grey?) so the BGA's code computing the distance from the BGA's and Heat's greens is smaller than the BGA's green and Heat's grey?
I know that this will change the aesthetics of the game and maybe it's not the color that the publisher approved or similar.. but I think that it may be a good trade-off.

What do you think?

I guess that any user having green in their BGA's preferences will eventually notice it.

I suggested exactly that: change the colors in Heat to match BGA color list, but I was told to not change it and that they will work on this on their side.

I assume that "their side" is BGA framework, right?
Is there any bug open on that regards so we can keep an eye on it?

Yes, "their side" is BGA admins that code and maintain the BGA framework.
I dont know if there is a specific bug report, but rest assured I will ping them regularly on that issue :)

The issue is still happening for the green preference in BGA being interpreted as grey in Heat.
I'm not certain if I should open a bug to for the BGA framework.

It was implemented globally on BGA to be able to overwrite color algorithm by giving some per-game pairings so it should be better on Heat now.
