If I read the rules correctly, when you have 3 of a color it triggers a fall. That is, unless you played a helmet on that color, in that case you get to have one more of that color for a total of 4 to trigger a fall.
In my game, I played the Pop Shove-it card which causes you to play another trick card. I pulled a new card from the deck and it turned out to be the 4th red card in my line, but no fall was triggered. -
