One other player on this table tried to do the same thing with the same result, they were forced to pass instead of defend due to this bug.

If you have 2 cards able to defend against a 2 card attack, it will not allow the player to select both cards then hit defend. When you click the second card, it returns to the previous hand state.

Select the card in your hand, select the attack card on the table, and press the defense button.

I managed to defend against two 7s using two trump 9s following the advice you gave there

Doing that was not very intuitive.

Agree that this is not intuitive. We spent forever in round 1 phase 1 because no one could figure this out. You have to click your first defense card, the attack card it is defending against, then your second defense card, then the card it is defending against (etc. if more) and then click the defend button ... but there is nothing helping players to know this! Since you have to defend against all cards for it to matter, seems like the interface could ask: select defense against the first attack card (if you can defend all) or pass, then you click one card, then the interface would ask you to select defense against the next attack card or pass, etc. That still lets the player pair defense to attack but would be much more intuitive than the current interface.
