BGA hasn't no time because some games can be "stopped" forever.

So, "Without time" is "lot of time" (you start with 20 days, it's a lot).

Time-limit was 125 days; I last played a move in August 2016, so less than 60 days ago.

If games are automatically abandoned by BGA after a certain amount of time, that should be the maximum time-limit for a "No time limit" game. Alternately, games should not be abandoned by BGA until after the maximum time-limit for a "No time limit" game has passed.

When people are busy/on holiday taking a break from playing games and the game previously said "120 days remaining" and now days "no time limit", it's disappointing for a game to suddenly be automatically abandoned.

Offering to play without a time limit is dishonest when you create automations to stop running games under certain conditions, without the players having decided to leave it.

It is also stupid to link this cadence to the option deactivating the calculation of ELO points based on the results of the game, whereas this has nothing to do with it. Especially, when a game is in a test period, and the developer waits for the results of games to fix the bugs and get the approvals. I agree to test the games, but not to play games with slow players.

This is *terrible* UI: The game speed dropdown has two **identically-named** entries called "No time limit • recommended with friends only", but apparently one is 'realtime' and will shut your game down after 4hrs, while the other is *actually* no time limit (or much closer anyway - 40 days)?? Also if you switch the Game Mode to "Training mode", there is no longer any way to pick the game speed; the mode description says it's no time limit but apparently it's the fake 4hrs no time limit :(

I played a few games with my friends, on 'No time limit', and as the table administrator pressed 'Play', it switched back to 'Normal time'.

Seconding bmcfluff: please change the name in the dropdown so that real time with no time limit is not so easily mixed up with turn-based time limit, or perhaps remove the distinction entirely.

None of my friends, nor I, have been able to start a game without a time limit for the last couple of weeks. Every time it is set to that (our preferred way of playing), it automatically switches to 1 play every 1 or 2 days with a red warning saying that no time limit is limited to friends only... this works whether I have invited anyone to the table or not and works in the same manner when I have only invited friends that are mutually friends (I -they, they - me).

We have a doctor that is slow playing and this is an issue... also, vacations mean people won't always be taking turns.

This is working on ALL GAMES for us, F5 did nothing, every time.

Es gibt zwei mal die Möglichkeit "ohne Zeitlimit" zu spielen. Die untere Möglichkeit funktioniert nicht

En mode sans limite de temps les parties sont abandonnées automatiquement au bout de quelques heures (~4h) sans action.

Willi B, this is not about INVITING only friends, but about RESTRICTING the table to friends only. At the right side of the text "Players at this table" you can see a small text "Restrict table access". Klick on this small text, then restrict the table to the group of your friends. After that, a game without time limit should be possible.

After following advice like that offered by Cigma, my problem has resolved. I was not accustomed to using the restrict table access feature and ignored/didn't notice it. Now that there was a change in how to have unlimited time, it became necessary.

Start a table as "No time limit - friends only"
Played 50% of the game, but it got late.
We were going to continue it another time, but the next morning the game had already been abandoned!

This is nowhere near the reported: "+30 days per turn (maximum 90 days)"

Now, there is no option to play real time game with friends without a time limit in the new UI. Please add this option back.
