2025 was a great year for Board Game Arena. Every table played, every game discovered, every friend and every late-night session added up to something truly amazing. Looking back at 2025, one thing is clear: you made the year unforgettable.
Countless Hours, Shared Moments
Together, you spent over 69 million hours playing in 2025. That is more than 7876 years of games in just one year... Victories or defeats, new or old games, whether you jumped in for a quick session or played for hours with friends. It all amounted to a whole lot of fun!
Just over 78 million tables were completed in real-time mode and 17.5 million in turn-based mode.
Players From All Around the World
In 2025, players joined in from all over the world, turning BGA into a truly global experience. From Brazil to Italy to India, to many, many, more countries- our community crossed borders, time zones, and languages: all connected by the same love of play.
Speaking of languages, there were over 355k translations done in 2025. A whopping 298 new tutorials were created to help the Community with new games. And last but not least, 227 new games were added to BGA in 2025. These are impressive numbers. A huge shout out to those of you who contributed in making these available to everyone on BGA whether you are a game developer, a translator, or a content creator. You can be proud of yourselves, and we bow to you! Let's not forget the moderators who spend hours browsing the forums and investigating reports to make sure BGA is a safe place.
In 2025, we dabbled in new ways to share games with you: we had a blast being part of the Twitch Plays Catan event. We are looking forward to renewing and expanding on such experiences.
At some point this year, more than 6.3k real-time tables were opened at the same time. Turn-based tables were a hit and we reached a peak of 316k on-going games in 2025.
The Games You Loved Most
When looking at the number of distinct players, one title led the way: 6 Nimmt!, closely followed by Azul and Catan. If we look at the time spent on a game, Ark Nova clearly stole the show with 7.1 million hours played. Catan and Terraforming Mars were close when it comes to the time spent on games.
Whether you choose long expert games or prefer short energetic ones, each game creates moments you will not forget.
BGA is Competitive
Even if it is all fun and games, Board Game Arena also offers some competition. You organized, and finished, almost 80k tournaments in 2025. Altered saw the largest number of registered participants for a single tournament with over 1.2k who joined.
The games that saw the most tournaments being organized are none other than Carcassonne with 6.5k tournaments, Can’t Stop with 5k, and Azul with 4k tournaments organized in 2025.
The Arena also got a lot of interest, and the top three Arena games are Azul, Ark Nova and Ticket to Ride. These 3 games combined gathered over 4 million tables created in Arena in 2025.
A Year of Growth and Improvements
We know everything is not perfect on BGA and we are constantly trying to improve.
In 2025, we proposed enhanced tools for developers to help them improve their games’ quality and hopefully make their role easier. We worked hard, behind the scenes, to allow our platform to keep growing and support more players, more games, and to make sure you can share our common passion for them.
We hired new people to facilitate the above, to better follow games under development, as well as our internal development's, and to facilitate the conversation with you. We met many of you during physical events such as SPIEL ESSEN in Germany, Cannes in France, or PAX Unplugged in Philadelphia, to only name a few.
We still have a long way to go in 2026, and we want to improve the community’s experience on BGA. It is all worth it, as long as we keep bringing players together to discovering new games, making friends and being part of this wonderful community.

2025: Un any en repetició
El 2025 va ser un gran any per Board Game Arena. Cada taula jugada, cada partida descoberta, cada amic i cada sessió nocturna van sumar alguna cosa realment increïble. Mirant enrere al 2025, una cosa està clara: vau fer que l'any fos inoblidable.
Incomptables hores, moments compartits
Junts, vau passar més de 69 milions d'hores jugant el 2025. Això són més de 7876 anys de jocs en només un any... Victòries o derrotes, jocs nous o antics, tant si hi vau entrar per una sessió ràpida com si vau jugar durant hores amb els amics. Tot plegat va ser molt divertit!
Es van completar poc més de 78 milions de taules en mode en temps real i 17,5 milions en mode per torns.
Jugadors d'arreu del món
El 2025, jugadors d'arreu del món s'hi van unir, convertint BGA en una experiència veritablement global. Des del Brasil fins a Itàlia, passant per l'Índia i molts, molts més països, la nostra comunitat va creuar fronteres, zones horàries i idiomes: tots connectats pel mateix amor pel joc.
Parlant d'idiomes, el 2025 es van fer més de 355.000 traduccions. Es van crear la friolera de 298 nous tutorials per ajudar la comunitat amb jocs nous. I per últim, però no menys important, es van afegir 227 nous jocs a BGA el 2025. Són xifres impressionants. Una gran salutació a aquells de vosaltres que vau contribuir a fer-los disponibles per a tothom a BGA, tant si sou desenvolupadors de jocs, traductors o creadors de contingut. Podeu estar orgullosos de vosaltres mateixos, i ens inclinem davant vostre! No ens oblidem dels moderadors que passen hores navegant pels fòrums i investigant informes per assegurar-se que BGA sigui un lloc segur.
El 2025, vam provar noves maneres de compartir jocs amb vosaltres: ens ho vam passar d'allò més bé participant a l'esdeveniment Twitch Plays Catan. Esperem poder renovar i ampliar aquestes experiències.
En algun moment d'aquest any, es van obrir més de 6.300 taules en temps real alhora. Les taules per torns van ser un èxit i vam arribar a un pic de 316.000 partides en curs el 2025.
Els jocs que més t'han agradat
Si mirem el nombre de jugadors diferents, un títol va liderar el camí: 6 Nimmt!, seguit de prop per Azul i Catan. Si mirem el temps dedicat a una partida, Ark Nova va robar clarament l'espectacle amb 7,1 milions d'hores jugades. Catan i Terraforming Mars van estar a prop pel que fa al temps dedicat a les partides.
Tant si tries partides llargues i expertes com si prefereixes partides curtes i enèrgiques, cada partida crea moments que no oblidaràs.
BGA és competitiu
Fins i tot si tot és diversió i jocs, Board Game Arena també ofereix una mica de competició. Vau organitzar i acabar gairebé 80.000 tornejos el 2025. Altered va tenir el nombre més gran de participants registrats en un sol torneig amb més d'1.200 participants.
Els partits que van veure organitzar més tornejos no són altres que Carcassonne amb 6.500 tornejos, Can't Stop amb 5.000 i Azul amb 4.000 tornejos organitzats el 2025.
L'Arena també va despertar molt d'interès, i els tres millors jocs de l'Arena són Azul, Ark Nova i Ticket to Ride. Aquests 3 jocs combinats van reunir més de 4 milions de taules creades a l'Arena el 2025.
Un any de creixement i millores
Sabem que no tot és perfecte a BGA i intentem millorar constantment.
El 2025, vam proposar eines millorades per als desenvolupadors per ajudar-los a millorar la qualitat dels seus jocs i, amb sort, facilitar-los la feina. Vam treballar molt, entre bastidors, per permetre que la nostra plataforma continués creixent i donés suport a més jugadors, més jocs i per assegurar-nos que pugueu compartir la nostra passió comuna per ells.
Hem contractat gent nova per facilitar l'anterior, per seguir millor els jocs en desenvolupament, així com els nostres desenvolupaments interns, i per facilitar la conversa amb vosaltres. Vam conèixer molts de vosaltres durant esdeveniments físics com ara SPIEL ESSEN a Alemanya, Cannes a França o PAX Unplugged a Filadèlfia, per anomenar-ne només alguns.
Encara ens queda molt camí per recórrer el 2026 i volem millorar l'experiència de la comunitat a BGA. Val la pena, sempre que continuem reunint jugadors per descobrir nous jocs, fer amics i formar part d'aquesta meravellosa comunitat.
